So I'm currently sitting in the shop office waiting for a call from the engine builder. We're changing from wet sump to dry sump and we're not sure what to do with the internal oil pump.
So far so good though! It is scary, I've never taken an engine apart before!
Progress so far:

can you just remove the lobe from the pump if you can't get the pump off?

I'm pretty sure we'll take the pump out, I just want to hear from someone who knows what they're doing before we do it.

Here's two blogs I followed back when I was considering F1600 in case you've not seen them. They chronicle most of the hassle and sticking points when doing the conversion.

What shop are you working out of? I see an F2000 and FV in there with your car.

Thanks! I'll take a look at those. I'm at John Walko's shop in Pittsburgh. I raced for him in Pro Mazda back in 06/07. The F2000 car belongs to Charles Finelli

I can't help any with the conversion, but I can comment again on how sweet that is to see.
